Well i listened to Al Gore tell the world how bad global warming is, then i see his house uses more energy than any other home in his area. I find this very disturbing, seems he would do his part to cut back on energy to stop global warming.

How can we end the threat of Global Warning?
Stop talking about something that is only based upon "scientists" that believe in the power to have society become emotional about something that is not based upon FACT. Although there are many "scientists" that support Global Warning, there are just as many and possiby more who oppose it! The bottom line is....tax big businesses and capitalism as a whole. Capitalism is the root system of America and Liberal thinking is pressing this issue because of the U.S. elections that will be coming in the next few years. (The Blame America Game) The Liberals are supposibly good and the Conservatives are bad. The whole idea of Global Warming is a joke, and I hope people wake up and realize that mankind (or the U.S.A. for that matter) will NOT destroy the world with it's conservative progress. America is the best and most cleanest of ALL nations around this world.
The arrogance of some people! I am sick of hearing about Global Warning. It is POLITICAL.

What threat of global warming? Where is the science? Lets just feed the hysteria! In spite of what Algore would like us all to believe there is little to support his position. Maybe he has more credibility since he invented the internet.

While we can end the threat of pollution there is nothing we can do to end the threat of Global warming since we didn't start it.

How about something more threatening, unpredictable and realistic than nuclear war or AGW.
A couple of volcanic eruptions, like a repeat of the Mt Pinatubo event in 1991. The volcano's eruption came after 635 years of dormancy, and produced the largest and most violent terrestrial eruption of the 20th century...yup that's right, more than SUV's ~grin~.
The effects of the eruption were felt worldwide. It injected large amounts of aerosols into the stratosphere, more than any eruption since that of Krakatoa in 1883. Over the following months, the aerosols formed a global layer of sulfuric acid haze. Global temperatures dropped by about 0.5 C (0.9 F), and ozone destruction increased substantially.
There's the drop in global temps we've been looking for.
Kinda makes AGW look like a nonevent.
Good Luck,
Dave

There is nothing puny little Homo Sapiens can do to prevent or stop global warming. If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. Just like all of nature's cycles.
I guess Al Gore not only invented the internet but global warming, too.

The "best" and "most cleanest"? Take a look at some numbers. Infant mortality, math and reading levels, life expectancy, transportation, and--neither last nor least--cleanliness. Take a look for yourself, if you can remove your hands from your eyes. Or better yet, get a passport and use it. I'm very happy to live here, but I'm not in denial about our problems. In fact, I'd like to work on fixing them. Complacency killed the cat (or the superpower, as it were.)

Dave,
Why stop at Pinatubo? How about something on the scale of the Yellowstone eruption some 600,000 or so years ago? These mega-eruptions occur about every 600,000 years or so and we are overdue. Long Valley Caldera is another one in California that is overdue. The Yellowstone eruption deposited enough ash on the Denver area that after compaction there is over 6 feet of it on the ground. Significant accumulations of Yellowstone ash have been found as far east as Kentucky. If you want to cool the earth down, let's have a good ole' caldera-type eruption from Yellowstone, Long Valley, or a similar environ. You'll be wishing that we could alter the climate at that point.

Duct tape Al Gore's mouth!

I'll probably take a nap and go fishing. That's how concerned I am about this so called problem. Sorry Laura, the vast majority of thinking Americans just aren't buying it anymore. I live in Michigan where the temps have been below normal for well over a month now, I could really use some global warming in my area right about now.

Andy....It's a joke...Lighten up, dude!....;-D......However, in all seriousness, with regard to this: the temps have been below normal for well over a month now, I could really use some global warming in my area right about now....I can't agree with you more....I am beginning to wonder if winter is ever going to go away!!!!

Ozi,
Wondering if Winter will ever go away? Don't you worry, there's no Ice Age coming: www.wxmaps.org... check there the climate outlook for the next 15 days.. brrr... that's brutally cold eh! Michigan will be in the 40's ;-D

Wow, the only person being political in this incoherent diatribe is YOU, Marlena.

let's all move to mars... there's no global warming there, right?

how ironic...
one of the advertisers is "go RVing".
yeah, let's pile into our ford pickup that gets about 4 mpg, then, when we get to our destination, we'll break out those eco-friendly ATVs and go rip up some wilderness area.
well, when you think about it... we probably all should be doing this - see as much of nature as you can- because we'll all be underwater soon anyway.

we need to start thinking how can we survive all the things that are going to happen from the global warming.
