Emissions Targets Unlikely at G8

Numerical targets for greenhouse gas emissions are unlikely at next month's G8 meeting in Germany next month, according to Britain's foreign minister.

The Group of Eight wealthy nations include Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. Discussion of whether there should be a post-Kyoto international framework on greenhouse gas reduction and what that framework might look like is expected at the meeting, set for June 6-8. Specific targets aren't likely.
