A Global Warming Video Game

College students in 100 countries have been asked to come up with a video game based on Global Warming by the "Xbox 360 Games for Change Challenge". According to the show, Living on Earth, the winner will receive a 25,000 dollar college scholarship with the chance that their winning game gets to go up against all the other Microsoft Xbox Live games. The competition is hoping to reach 100,000 students.

I don't know. A game like that might be a pretty tough sell, especially to the younger crowd, who tend like games with a lot of quick, changing action. This would have to be a slow, strategy type game I would think, unless you put an accelerated hollywood-like twist to it.

Andrew:

I'd make it like the Sims, but with lots of acceleration (since Global Warming is such a slow moving problem)

The player makes a series of life choices and then suffers the consequences.

Drive a big SUV and it's gets so hot that asphalt melts on the road and then then sea level rises so much that everything floods.

Drive a little car and every thing is great.

Ride a bike, then CO2 levels fall and the next ice age starts sooner and it gets so cold
and snowy that the only way to get around is with a 4 wheel drive SUV!

Darren:

I thought everything being put out there by the AGW and the UN IPCC crowd was a game. A game akin to three card monty.

Besides, the Goreacle has already won in making the most money from a self-fulfilling issue.
