Dr. Singer answers more of Your Questions
Noted global warming skeptic Dr. Fred Singer answers more of your questions in the final part of this particular interview series, which is hosted by our own Katie Fehlinger. Singer also gives his opinion on Al Gore and the Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, Katie talks about the global warming threat to the Emperor Penquin. Next week, Katie meets up with Dr. James Hansen of NASA.

Nobody is even attempting to push the idea any more that Antarctic sea ice is on the decline. Blaming changes in penguin populations on sea ice loss is just more AGW hysteria.
Singer was as usual thoughtful and intelligent, unlike the cult spokesman Al Gore - who reiterated his hatred for America yesterday in Bali.

And, once again, Patrick Henry gets off one of his ad hominem attacks against Al Gore. That's a pretty big cult Al's the leader of. Dr. Singer is correct that the Nobel prize is political. That doesn't negate its importance. Those of us who are working for peace around the world appreciate a little recognition every once in a while, given the amount of war coverage that fills the airwaves. As for Al Gore hating America: why would some one who hated a country work so hard and expend so much energy in its behalf? The fact that you don't agree with him doesn't make him a hater. The fact that he criticizes the country doesn't make him a hater. The fact that I disagree with George Bush doesn't mean I think he hates the country. He just doesn't understand it, because he's never had to.

I find it fascinating that Dr. Keller equates people (like Al Gore) "who are trying to do this" are people who are "to some extent are in favor of peace." HUH??? Dude, you mean those of us who are not "trying to do this" are not in favor of peace??? Oh, yeah, that's right, just because we aren't pacifists and don't believe the world is going to blow up because of captitalism means we don't want peace. How typical! After making that statment, it's pretty obvious that Dr. Keller is a shill for the political left and is probably getting tons of $$$ for being a part of the scam.
And when Dr. Singer says "He (Al Gore) doesn't have any...." Any what?? Scientific background??? Experience as a Climatologist??? I wonder why he stops himself from saying those truthful things. As for giving the Nobel Prize to Pat Buchanan if the Norwegian Conservative Party were in power, I think that is a stretch. But then again, considering the joke the prize has become in recent histroy, maybe not.

kevinag,
Peace is a by-product of prosperity. The two things which have kept Europe from away from continuous genocide and war are capitalism and soccer. Ronald Reagan did more for world peace than every liberal in history.
I don't have any doubt that Al Gore hates the US. How can you not hate something which you believe is "destroying the world?" Al Gore has become incredibly rich from global warming, and has a 20,000 square foot house and a private jet. "love" has nothing to do with this. His behavior in Bali would have had him ostracized and ignored 50 years ago.
"The pacifist is as surely a traitor to his country and to humanity as is the most brutal wrongdoer."

Since you brought it up, I'm dying to know, what did Vice-President Gore do for America?
And, how do you figure Bush doesn't understand the country? As compared to whom, you or Gore? If you look seriously at HIS off the cuff comments, not the crud he is directed to say from the national committee, he understands the majority of the country just fine. He does not understand the elitist, snobbish North Easterners or the left coasters. Frankly nobody outside of those areas understands them either. Believe me, I just returned from a vacation to Maine. The attitudes were incredible and palpable once we got east of Penn.
PH is right about the penguins being used as a tool for the AGW crowd. I would be willing to bet that had Coke not used warm, cuddly, wuddlely polar bears in their ads several years ago, we never would have had to put up with the plight of the polar bear as related to GW since they would have not been seen as a tragic figure otherwise.
I noted that both Singer and Keller seemed to be a bit evasive in some regard but Singer had an air of sincerity where Keller was more like a used car salesman trying to get rid of his 73
Gremlin that Grandma only drove to church and back.

A new report by the WWF on Emperor Penguins is mentioned, but I believe it was an old report, repackaged to add to the Bali hysteria. I wonder if anybody could confirm or deny this.
