World Glaciers continue to Shrink

The World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS) just released their latest preliminary data on the continuous mass balance values for 30 glaciers across the world for the year 2006. Obviously, it takes a while to gather this information.

The latest WGMS data shows the continued trend in accelerated ice loss during the past 25 years.

This bottom graph from the report clearly illustrates the steady decline in mean cumulative net balance.
